Leicester City are the Premier League champions for the 2015 - 2016 season and title celebrations are taking place in Leicester.

Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri and his side will get to celebrate their Cinderella run to an incredible victory against all odds at home with their fans on Saturday, as the Foxes host Everton at the King Power Stadium.

Winning Leicester manager Ranieri’s favorite poem as a child was if by Ruyard Kipling. After being sacked by Chelsea 16 years ago, Ranieri kept his dignity and has earned the top attainment in English football, and has his sites on European football glory in the Champions League next season.

“That Kipling poem is fantastic,” said Ranieri. “Victory and defeat are bedfellows. I am an experienced manager, and I know that the crucial thing is balance: not to be too high when you are on top, and not to be too low when you are down. Maybe I will give the poem to my players.”

When Ranieri's side kept a clean sheet this season, they celebrated not with champagne, but by going out for pizza.

After Premier League leaders Leicester City failed to defeat sixth place superclub Manchester United and win the Premier League title on Sunday, ending up with a 1-1 draw in Week 36 and putting the pressure on the Spurs, Chelsea drew 2-2 with Tottenham on Monday giving Leicester City their first Premier League championship in their 132 year history. Anthony Martial opened the scoring for Man United and Leicester skipper Wes Morgan scored the equalizer. Danny Drinkwater was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Tottenham Hotspur met arch-rivals FC Chelsea in a hard-fought fiesty London Derby drawing even with the Blues, and losing their chance in the title race. As a result, The Foxes are crowned 2015-16 Premier League Champions and the title race is over for this season. The game was marred by some ugly incidents that may result in some Spurs players being banned for the upcoming match with Southampton.

Leicester City was almost sure to win the EPL trophy one way or the other - and the Foxes have already sealed their first-ever place in the elite Champions League tournament for the 2016 - 2017 season.

Leicester were finally rewarded after the Foxes continued to dream big throughout the season as they battled all the way from almost being relegated to winning the 2016 England Premier League title. Tottenham are in second place.

The Foxes only needed 3 more points to win the EPL silverware if Tottenham Hotspur had won on Monday.

The Spurs are still in the fight for a top-four spot along with Arsenal, Man City, Man United, West Ham, and Liverpool.

Tottenham next face a battle for 2nd place, as Arsenal only trail by three points. Tottenham will face Southampton, but after the incidents that plagued Monday's game with Chelsea, manager Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino may be missing a couple of players.

Leicester City's top goal scorer Jamie Vardy

Jamie Vardy grabbed his 22nd goal of the season. Vardy always seems passionate and full of energy in every match.

“My friend in Italy asked me what has this Vardy,” said Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri. “To explain I said, ‘I believe if Vardy takes a light bulb, the bulb switches on – he is electric!”

“Jamie is electric. It’s good energy – I bring him into my house so I don’t pay the electricity,” added Ranieri.

Leicester City’s top goal scorer Jamie Vardy was voted Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association for being key to Claudio Ranieri’s side’s amazing record-breaking season.

Vardy has scored 22 goals and scored in 11 consecutive league games to date this season.

“It’s a great honor to win such a prestigious award and to have my name added to a list of previous winners that includes some unbelievable players. Thank you to the Football Writers’ Association and to everyone that voted," Vardy said. “Thank you also to my team-mates, who are the reason I’ve been able to achieve anything.

"It’s been an amazing season for all of us at Leicester, based on the team-work not individuals, which you can see in the voting. Thanks also to the manager, all the staff and the fans for their support,” added Vardy. "We’re all totally focused on getting over the line in the final two weeks of the season and turning a great season into one we’ll never forget. Hopefully I can contribute to that and, if selected, carry some good form into the Euros this summer.”

“Dilly-ding, dilly-dong”, Claudio Ranieri, Leicester City manager

Claudio Ranieri exclaimed about his pride and happiness after learning his side are the Premier League Champions.

New King of England, Claudio Ranieri said: “I’m so proud. I’m happy for my players, for the chairman, for the staff at Leicester City, all our fans and the Leicester community. It’s an amazing feeling and I’m so happy for everyone.”

“I never expected this when I arrived. I’m a pragmatic man, I just wanted to win match after match and help my players to improve week after week. Never did I think too much about where it would take us,” added Ranieri. “The players have been fantastic. Their focus, their determination, their spirit has made this possible. Every game they fight for each other and I love to see this in my players. They deserve to be champions.”

Jamie Vardy tried to describe how he feels about winning the Premier League.

“It’s an unbelievable feeling, I’ve never known anything like it. We were scrapping to stay in the league last season and on Saturday we’ll be lifting the trophy. That gives you an idea of how much hard work has gone into this season from every single player and member of staff,” said Vardy. “It’s the biggest achievement in the history of a great club and we all feel privileged to be part of it. It’s even more special to have done it with these lads. Every minute of hard work we’ve put in on the training pitch has been worth it for this moment.”

Wes Morgan, Foxes skipper, said: “It’s the best feeling of my career and I couldn’t be prouder that it’s as part of this team. Everyone’s worked so hard for this, nobody believed we could do it, but here we are, Premier League champions and deservedly so.

After EPL Week 36, Leicester City are in first place with 77 points at the top of the table. The Spurs are in second with 70 points. Arsenal has 67 points, Man City has 64 points; Man United has 60 points, and West Ham 59 points.
