Wazza’s return to action will give a significant boost to Luis van Gaal’s side. Fifth-placed United trail behind fourth placed Manchester City in the race to qualify for the 2016 – 2017 Champions League tournament via a top four finish in the Premier League.

Rooney is fully fit and in form to feature in upcoming matches for the Premier League, FA Cup and Euro 2016.

Roo’s absence was noticeable in the 12 matches he missed. United won only 6 of the 12 games going out of the Europa League defeated by FC Liverpool, and losing to West Brom and the Spurs.

The FA Cup quarter-final replay took place between West Ham and Manchester United at Upton Park - the last-ever cup game to played at the historic, old stadium.

The Hammers said goodbye to the Boleyn Ground as Louis van Gaal's side earned a deserved 2-1 victory to seal a place in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley against Everton.

Young Man United star striker Marcus Rashford put the Red Devils ahead early in the second half with a stunning, curling effort and veteran striker Marouane Fellaini doubled the lead for United.

James Tomkins managed to score a late diving header for West Ham with only 12 minutes left in the match, but the Hammers were unable to score again as United held on.
