New Chelsea signing Diego Costa opened the scoring in the nine goal clash, earning a brace as the Blues made it three wins in three games in a row to kick off their 2014-15 campaign with a bang.

Costa put the Blues in the lead at 34 seconds sparking his side to go for a win.

Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic scored next after three minutes making it 2-0, though replays showed he was offside.

Kevin Mirallas opened the account for Everton with a powerful header just before the break with the score 2-1 at half-time.

In the second half Chelsea got back their two goal lead as Seamus Coleman shot the ball past keeper Howard at 67th minutes.

Then Steven Naismith scored again for Everton making it 3-2.

Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic broadened the Blue’s lead to 4-2 at 72 minutes before Samuel Eto scored at 76 minutes and Ramires scored at 77 minutes.

And the grand finale for elated Chelsea fans was when Costa capped the win with an injury time strike.
