Arsenal have plans to bring FC Liverpool superstar striker Luis Suarez on board at Emirates Stadium during the summer transfer window.

Reportedly Suarez will inform his current boss Brendan Rodgers that he wants to officially speak to Arsenal about a transfer after The Gunners' bid of £40m plus £1.

Suarez believes Liverpool is obliged to respond to the offer to sell him. And Arsenal believe that the offer requires Liverpool to be allowed to talk to Suarez. The Gunners made the bid to force the issue.

Pere Guardiola, the brother of the Bayern Munich manager Pep, commented that a clause in the Suarez’s contract states that Liverpool’s failure this season to secure a top four Premiership spot and Champions League football next season means any bid over £40m from a club in the Champions League competition requires Liverpool to sell Suarez.

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain and Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina both passed their medicals with Napoli today. Napoli are thought to have an agreement with Real Madrid to buy Higuain for £31m, more than Arsenal have offered, with that deal now expected to be completed.

Higuain moving to Italy may trigger a bid from Real Madrid for Suarez.

With the money from Higuain’s sale, Real Madrid could outbid Arsenal for Suarez.

Suarez made his first appearance for Liverpool in their 2-0 victory against Melbourne Victory in Australia after his biting incident with Branislav Ivanovic at Anfield on 21 April.

Suarez is expected to tell Liverpool that he wants to leave the club and move to Arsenal. If the offer of is accepted by Liverpool, it would break Arsenal’s all-time record transfer fee.
