Manchester United collected their 2013 Barclay’s Permier League trophy today! United and Swansea players formed a guard of honor for the 71-year-old Sir Alex Ferguson as he led the Red Devils to victory for the last time at Old Trafford.

United beat Swansea City 2-1 in their last Premier League home match of the season at the Old Trafford in Manchester, England. Man Utd’s goals were scored by Hernández (39′) and Ferdinand (87′) and Swansea City’s goalscorer was Michu (49′).

Manchester United won the England Premier League Championship, having cinched the trophy under the leadership of manager Sir Alex Ferguson who has announced his retirement.

Man United defeated the Swans 2-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday in manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s last home match. United clash with West Brom in their final game of the season and Fergie’s last game in charge.

Robin Van Persie was brought to Old Trafford by Fergie for £24 million last summer from FC Arsenal, and at 29-years-old, finally collected his first Premier League winners’ medal.

Van Persie is United’s top scorer this season with 29 goals.

“I’m sad to hear that the manager is retiring,” said Van Persie. “But I’m really happy I’ve had the opportunity and the honour to work with him.

“He’s a great manager and, above all, an even greater person. I have to thank him for an amazing year and for making my dream come true by winning the league.”
