Costel Fane Pantilimon is a towereing Romanian footballer who is under contract to Man City until 30.06.2016. Pantilimon is the tallest player in the Premier League, at 6 feet 8 inches tall.

Man City boss Roberto Mancini has pledged to keep faith with Pantilimon for Manchester City’s FA Cup final after his key defensive showing against Chelsea on their road to Wembley. Mancini suggested Pantilimon will keep his place for the final against Wigan on May 11

Pantilimon has conceded only one goal this season, and Mancini decided to deploy the 26-year-old instead of regular No.1 Joe Hart in the crucial semi-final.

Pentilimon gave a powerful performance in the 2-1 victory, where he denied both Juan Mata and Demba Ba an equaliser - and saved the match.

‘Costel did very well,’ said Mancini. ‘He is a good keeper and he deserves this situation because he has been here for two years and has done very well behind Joe Hart.

‘It is a good situation for Joe too.

‘We have four weeks to the final but I think it will be Pantilimon.’
