Sergio Ramos, Spain
FIFA 2014 World Cup Qualifier - Spain 1-1 Finland
Sergio Ramos celebrated ascoring Spain's opening goal during the FIFA 2014 World Cup Qualifier between Spain and Finland at Estadio El Molinon on March 22, 2013 in Gijon, Spain.
Ramos opened the scoring for Spain and marked his 100th international cap for Spain, and Teemu Pukki’s 79th-minute equalizer earned a draw for Finland as they held reigning world and European champions Spain at home.
Sergio Ramos headed in his winning his 100th cap for Spain, scored after half-time.
Finland's Teemu Pukki scored past Victor Valdés 11 minutes from time in Spain as he slowed the world and European champions in World Cup qualifying Group I in their progress toward Brazil. Spain are two points behind France who lead the group.
The draw leaves Spain under pressure to get a victory in Paris next Tuesday when they clash with France, their closest group rivals, who drew 1-1 in Madrid last year.
"We weren't thinking about France because this was the most important game," said Ramos. "Now we can think about it. We have a great team in front of us but we can beat them and we have to go with this mentality. This result is a shame after celebrating my 100th cap with a goal."
Spain's line-up was without the injured Iker Casillas and Carles Puyol and midfielders Xavi and Xabi Alonso.
