England took an early lead through Alessandro Della Valle’s own goal. Then Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain opened England's scoring. Jermain Defoe, Ashley Young and Captain Frank Lampard, all added to the tally before halftime.

In the second half Wayne Rooney scored a stunning 20-yard free kick. Daniel Sturridge also struck and Defoe grabbed a second.

Oxlade-Chamberlain started in the absence of injured Arsenal teammate Theo Walcott. With Rio Ferdinand in Qatar, Chris Smalling and Joleon Lescott played central defense.Steven Gerrard and Ashley Cole were on the bench.

England manager Roy Hodgson began making changes after the sixth goal - with Manchester United duo Rooney and Tom Cleverley leaving the field and substitutes Sturridge and Leon Osman took the field.

Tottenham's Kyle Walker and Defoe combined for the eighth goal.
