Sweden’s Euro 2012 Roster

Swedish national team will prepare for the championships on the training camp in Gotland from May 24 – 28), and from 2nd, to 4th of June, in Stockholm. During that period of time, it will play two friendly matches: on May 30, with Island in Goeteborg and on June 5, against Serbia in Stockholm.

Sweden’s squad consists of 23 footballers nominated by the head coach Erik Hamren to participate in European football championships includes also the striker Johan Elmander, who plays for the Turkish club Galatasaray and was injured during a league match.

Elmander can stand on the injured foot and walk,

“This is a very good information for us; the injury is not serious and the doctors are sure that it will be possible to cure it at the beginning of tournament,” said the coach Hamren.

Sweden will play in group D and starts Euro 2012 on June 11, playing with Ukraine.

Sweden’s squad lacks among others John Guidetti (Manchester City) who has health problems, Michael Almebaeck (Club Brugge), Oscar Wendt (Moenchengladbach), Marcus Olsson (Blackburn Rovers) and the seriously injured Daniel Majstorović (Celtic), whereas Marcus Rosenberg (Werder) returned to the team.
