Zlatan Ibrahimovic was awarded the AIC Trophy during the Gran Gala del Calcio Aic 2011 awards Ceremony at Teatro dal Verme on January 23, 2012 in Milan, Italy. The Oscar del Calcio are awards given by the Italian Footballers’ Association (the AIC) to the players, the coach and the referee who has been considered to have performed the best over the previous Serie A season. The winners of the prizes are chosen by the league’s footballers.
Along with Ibrahimovic in the 2011 AIC Team of the Year were: Antonio Di Natale, Edinson Cavani, Kevin Prince Boateng, Thiago Motta/Claudio Marchisio (joint winners), Marek Hamsik, Pablo Armero, Andrea Ranocchia/Alessandro Nesta (joint winners), Thiago Silva and Christian Maggio.
