Beckham to Play in LA Galaxy MLS Cup League Championship

"I'm 36 years old," remarked David Beckham when asked about his future plans.

"I have to see where I am at the end of the season, take a break and see where my head's at and where my body's at."

Several clubs have been linked to Beckham including Paris Saint-Germain and England's Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers.

Beckham said his torn left Achilles tendon he suffered in January 2010 while playing on loan for AC Milan still bothers him.

"With the ruptured Achilles, it takes its toll," said Beckham, who had 15 assists and two goals during the season and three assists in the playoffs. "I know I'm not ready to finish (playing) yet. At the end of the day, I need to see where I'm at physically."

"I have back pain at my age, but this didn't feel right."

"I was able just to train through it and I had a couple of weeks rest," Beckham said.

"It was still fractured when I came back playing but I was without pain. I assume it's just mended itself now."

2011 MLS Comeback Player of the Year

Ace midfielder for LA Galaxy, David Beckham, hopes to play for England, even though he will be 37 when Euro 2012 begins.

Beckham has improved his chances of representing England in the Euro 2012 - the US Major League Soccer (MLS) announced Becks as the winner of the 2011 MLS Comeback Player of the Year.

Beckham has helped lead the Galaxy back to the brink of an MLS Cup Championship on home turf. They will play the Houston Dynamo on Nov 20 for the title, which would be Beckham's first in MLS.

Beckham got 15 assists in the 2011 MLS regular season games - five better than his previous best in MLS of 10 in 2008, Xinhua reported.

The former England captain appeared in only seven league games in 2010 after injuring his Achilles tendon while on loan with AC Milan.

Beckham's career-high appearances in MLS (26) this year helped LA clinch their second consecutive Supporter's Shield with the second-highest point total in league history (67).

Voting for the award was conducted among MLS management, media and players. Beckham won over D. C. United's forward Charlie Davies and Chicago Fire forward Dominic Oduro.

The 115-cap star is tipped to join French club Paris St Germain in a bid to restart his international career.

At this point Fabio Capello, England manager, is not planning on adding Beckham to his squad for the Euro finals.

"No. I think he will be involved in the Olympic Games," remarked Capello.

"I haven't thought about this," he said.

Beckham last played for England two years ago in the World Cup qualifying victory over Belarus.
