English Premiership: Liverpool v Manchester United - Tickets

Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney is expected to start for Man Utd in a mouth-watering clash between Premiership arch-rivals Manchester United and Liverpool FC - coming up this weekend on Saturday after the international break.

Super-star striker, Wayne Rooney sits atop the Premier League Goal Scorers list this campaign. Roo may add to his nine-goal tally for the season against Liverpool.

Rooney was sent off against Montenegro last Friday, leading to concerns that he wasn't in the right frame of mind to play following the arrest of his father the day before by police investigating a football betting scam.

However, Sir Alex Ferguson is confident Rooney is ready for the upcoming clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

Man United head into Saturday's early kick-off at Anfield six points clear of fifth place Liverpool at the top of the Premiership.

After three home games this season, Liverpool remain unbeaten at Anfield Stadium, with two wins and a draw.

After three away games this season, Manchester United remain unbeaten away from home.

Liverpool's new left-back, Jose Enrique,  has started all seven Premier League games this season, earning a man of the match performance against Arsenal. His defensive skills will be tested by Nani, Man United's competitive winger. Nani has gotten off to a formidable early start to the season - three goals and three assists in seven games.
