Argentina 0–0 Colombia

Reportedly, Argentina should be winning this tournament.

Once again Argentina’s fabled stars failed to click as host nation Argentina were held to a 0-0 draw with Colombia who sit top of Group A with four points. That cannot happen again if Sergio Batista’s men are to have any hope of clinching their first Copa America since 1993.

Hernan Gomez’s side sit at the summit courtesy of their 1-0 win over Costa Rica, while the host nation stumbled to a 1-1 draw with Bolivia.

Their starting strike force includes Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi, the world’s top player Lionel Messi and the joint Premier League top scorer from last season, Carlos Tevez.

In reserve Argentina possess £35 million Manchester City target Sergio Aguero and Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Inter Milan’s striker Diego Milito and Madrid star Angel di Maria were on the stands.

Argentina’s midfield is also extremely strong with Javier Mascherano and Esteban Cambiasso.

Colombia almost took the lead after 19 minutes when Moreno found Ramos inside the box but his strike missed.

The best chance of the first half fell to Ramos who capitalized on a mistake from Argentinean defender Milito but he could not find the back of the net.

Falcao had the only real chance of a goal in the second half, but his effort was beaten away by Romero.
