Cristian Bolaños Scores - Copenhagen Leads Danish Superliga by 19 Points After 19 Games

Champions League: FC Copenhagen v Chelsea

Top tier Copenhagen prepared for the match with a 5-0 friendly win over Norwegian side Rosenborg ahead of their match against Chelsea.

Chelsea hope to make a mid-season turnaround when they travel to FC Copenhagen in the Champions League tomorrow.

Fernando Torres reportedly will make his Champions League debut for Chelsea following his January transfer from Liverpool.

Chelsea won the Premier League and FA Cup double last year in their spectacular first campaign under new manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The team are fifth in the Premier League table, 12 points behind leaders Manchester United.

And their hopes of another FA Cup ended yesterday, when they lost to Everton on penalties in a fourth-round replay.

A Champions League trophy is Chelsea's best chance of collecting silverware this season.

Chelsea's Italian Manager Ancelotti is confident in the run up to the UEFA Champions League 1st Knock Out stage saying, 'Chelsea won't go out against Copenhagen."

'"We need to take a result and it'll be good to take a result on Tuesday. The Champions League is not easy but it brings a lot of motivation." he added.

Copenhagen are the first side from Denmark to reach the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Copenhagen has been on winter hiatus from December until March - amd has seen little competitive action since their last Champions League outing on December 8th. However Copenhagen are 19 points clear in the Danish Superliga and should not be underestimated.

Top Copenhagen goal scorers to watch are Jesper Grønkjær and leading goal scorer for FC Copenhagen - Dame N'Doye.

Former Chelsea player Jesper Gronkjaer has been fit for Copenhagen this season and will relish the chachallenge of playing against his former club.

"Chelsea play at a high tempo every fourth day and that is a deciding factor," remarked Copenhagen manager, Stale Solbakken. "We have known this since the draw and had hoped for a couple of better opponents but we couldn't get that. The players will be slightly worried about the pace but that will always be the case for Scandinavian teams this time of year. But if we come out of the first game all right, then we have got three weeks until the next, when we will be much further ahead and everything can happen – there we will also be able to beat Chelsea."
