Louis Saha Scored Five Goals - Given Credit For Four

EVERTON 5-3 BLACKPOOL

Everton's Louis Saha scored four as Everton defeated Blackpool 5-3. Jermaine Beckford hit Everton’s other goal. Saha is the first Toffee since Graeme Sharp in 1987 to score four in a league game.

Saha actually scored five goals but was robbed of both a goal and a place in the record books due to a poor judgement call by referee Kevin Friend.

Luis Saha would have joined Jermain Defoe, Alan Shearer, Dimitar Berbatov and Andy Cole in the record books as players to have netted five goals in a game.

Saha thought he had scored a goal, mading it 2-1. To the shook of fans and players, the goal was chalked off for a free-kick to Everton. All hell broke loose due to Friend’s baffling call. Luckily Everton won anyway.
