Liverpool Tells Chelsea "Fernando Torres Not For Sale"

New Liverpool manager, Kenny Dalglish has plans to strengthen his new side in an attempt to move up the Premier League ladder in the second half of the 2010-2011 season.

Dalglish, who succeeded Roy Hodgson at the beginning of January, is reportedly trying to raise funds in order to fund improved bids for Ajax striker Luis Suarez and Blackpool captain Charlie Adam.

Ryan Babel was transfered to the Bundesliga's Hoffenheim earlier this week.

Since Dalglish has taken charge, Fernando Torres, 26, has been firing bullets as he gets back to the form which made him a star when he first moved to Liverpool from Atletico Madrid.

Today, Liverpool have rejected a Chelsea bid worth a reported £35million for striker Torres.

"Chelsea have made a bid for Fernando which has been turned down," a Liverpool spokesperson told The Times.

"The player is not for sale."
