Chelsea 7-0 Ipswich

Ipswich, who parted ways with manager Roy Keane last week, were soundly defeated by Chelsea who were on a roll with seven goals en route to a 7-0 victory. It took more than half an hour for the current Champions of English soccer to get a goal, but after a time - two came along in quick succession. Kalou opened the scoring on 33 minutes, and Sturridge added another within a minute. An Edwards own goal put Chelsea ahead 3-0 up at half time. Additional goals from Anelka at 49 mins, Sturridge‘s second at 52 mins, and from Frank Lampard at 79 mins increased home Chelsea’s advantage in the second half to the delight of fans.

Chelsea will face Everton at Goodison Park in Round Four.

Leicester 2-2 Manchester City

Leicester City was down 2-1 to Manchester City at half-time, after taking an early lead through Bamba, who scored in the first minute. Milner equalized for the visitors at 23 minutes and Carlos Tevez put City in front at 45 minutes. Leicester equalized with a goal from King on 64 minutes, earning a tie.

This match will be replayed at the City of Manchester Stadium at 19:45 (GMT) on Wednesday, 19 January 2011. The winner will travel to Notts County in the next round.

Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool

Manchester United defeated top tier Premier League rivals, Liverpool, 1-0 at Old Trafford due to a 2nd minute Ryan Giggs penalty shot. Referee Howard Webb judged that Berbatov had been tripped by Danial Agger with just 30 seconds on the clock - and that he did not take a dive. Liverpool were dealt a huge blow when captain Steven Gerrard was sent off for an illegal two-foot lunge on Michael Carrick after half an hour. Pepe Reina saved the game at the net more than once.

Manchester United will travel to Southampton in the fourth round.

Tottenham Hotspurs 3-0 Charlton

Tottenham Hotspurs secured their place in round four with an easy 3-0 home win over Charlton Athletic. A second half goal from Andros Townsend at 49 minutes opened the scoring for Spurs before a Jermain Defoe brace at 58 and 60 mins secured the win.

Spurs will face Fulham away in the next round.
