Manchester United 2-1 West Bromwich Albion - Rooney Scores

Wayne Rooney Kissed by Fan last March when he scored his last goal

Wayne Rooney’s goal against West Brom was his first in open play since March. Man Utd defeated West Bromwich Albion 2-1 with his help. Later in the match, Roons suffered a left ankle injury that may keep him out for weeks.

Man Utd is the only unbeaten side in Premiership top flight this season.

"It's a massive result for us," said Sir Alex Ferguson. "Over the years we've had to battle out games and we had to do that today."

Rooney opened the scoring in the third minute at The Hawthorns and Javier Hernandez sealed the victory 15 minutes from time.

"Wayne Rooney was absolutely out of this world," Ferguson said. "He's off the mark and, hopefully he's on a (goal) run now."
