"Golden Boy" Mario Balotelli Makes Arrogant Remarks

Mario Balotelli

Mario Balotelli was voted "Golden Boy" - an award naming him as the best European player under the age of 21. Arsenal's Jack Wilshire came in second.

Manchester City's Balotelli was signed from Inter for 24 million pounds. He has scored 2 goals this season. Balotelli made some arrogant remarks about Jack Wilshere, am Arsenal player who is 3 years younger Balotelli.

Balotelli said, “What’s his name? Wilshere? I don’t know who he is, but the next time I play against Arsenal I will keep a close eye on him. Perhaps I can show him the Golden Boy trophy and remind him that I won it! I am delighted to receive this award. Who should have won this award but me? Two years ago I finished sixth and a year ago fourth. It was finally my turn. My goal is to use this award as a stepping stone to winning the Ballon d’Or for the best player in the world.”

Ballotelli claimed that he is better than past Golden Boy winners Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney and Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

“There’s only one that is a little stronger than me – Lionel Messi. All I ask for now is two things – to win the Premier League and to clinch the Europa League, a trophy that I have not yet won,” said Ballotelli.
