Wayne Rooney out for five more weeks

Wayne Rooney Status

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson announced that Wayne Rooney is expected to be out of action for another five weeks.

Roons has not played since the 2-2 draw against West Bromwich Albion on 16th October, when he substituted for the last 20 minutes.

A few days later he did not play in the match against Bursaspor after suffering an ankle injury in training.

The striker has already been sidelined for almost a fortnight with an injury that was initially expected to keep him out for just three weeks.

Ferguson has now confirmed that he is not likely to be back until early December.

"I think Wayne Rooney will be out for another five weeks," said Ferguson.

"He'll have to pick up his fitness again. I would think five weeks should be about right."
