Liverpool Receive £20m Cash Inter Offer For Mascherano

European Champs Inter Milan announced that they have submitted an official £20 million bid for the midfielder, Javier Mascherano.

Barcelona are the only other club to have formalised a bid for Mascherano, but their bid falls far short of what Liverpool expects.

Mascherano indicated his intentions, after telling Liverpool he wanted to leave and did not want to play for the team against Manchester City on Monday.

Manager Marco Branca has confirmed that Inter Milan are back in the bidding for midfielder Mascherano. Javier wants to reunite with Benitez who played a part in reviving his career in England.

“I sent an offer to Liverpool by fax on Tuesday and am waiting for a reply from them,” Branca said.

“We’re not speaking to the player at the moment because we want to do this in the right way and make sure that Liverpool are happy."

“Everybody knows that Mascherano would like to change teams and to change country. He also has a good relationship with our manager Rafa Benitez."

“We’ve made a very good offer, around the amount they are asking for. We have a strong team here, the best in Europe, but we would like to add one or two players to make us even stronger.”

Liverpool Manager Hodgson has indicated that he would be ready to keep an unhappy Mascherano at the club if he did not receive a sincere offer.
