Marouane Chamakh's Debut With Liverpool

The Gunners lost Ronaldo last summer.

They have gained Marouane Chamakh.

On his competitive Liverpool debut at Anfield last Sunday, the former Bordeaux player tried hard to demonstrate why he was known as Europe's best aerial attacker for the last two seasons.

The Gunners are still getting used to having Chamakh up front but the primary reason Arsene Wenger signed him is for his prowess to convert crosses.

Chamakh, 26, played well in his 1-1 debut against Liverpool and forced Pepe Reina's mistake for the equalising goal.

Speaking to the Gunners' official website, Wenger lauded the ex-Bordeaux man's lack of fear.

He said: "Chamakh showed with the goal that he is not frightened to put his head and body in.

"That is exactly what the league is all about and that is what we love here."
