Real Madrid Update : Cristiano Ronaldo Scores 400 Goals

CR7 scored 69 goals in 59 matches over the calendar year in 2013. The Portugal captain has now scored 400 goals in 653 games in all competitions - taking his season's tally to 28 and boosting his chances for the Ballon d'Or 2014 award.

Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 400th career goal in Real Madrid's 3-0 victory over Spanish La Lga's rivals Celta Vigo in the La Liga, reducing the gap on league leaders Barcelona.

In the final seconds of the clash against Celta Viga, Ronaldo scored after being put through by Gareth Bale, a 65th minute substitute.

Real is now five points adrift of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in third.

Ronaldo reportedly has also struck a deal with Real to increase his share of his image rights increasing them above the current rate of 60 per cent.

'The situation still hasn't been resolved and I don't think now is the right time to talk about it,' said Ronaldo at a press conference in LA. 'Perhaps we'll be able to give more concrete news about this further down the line but now the only thing in my remit is to train and work.'

Former Real boss Mourinho jabbed at Real Madrid ahead of the match.

'Madrid is politics. Madrid is not about football, Madrid is not about sport,' said Mourinho.

Ronaldo responded: 'There are some things in life that don't deserve any mention. This is one of those things and I won't comment on it for obvious reasons. I always respect my coaches and try to learn from them.

'As we say in Portugal, "I don't spit on the plate I eat on." That's how I feel. I prefer to try and remember the positive side.'

Barcelona delighted their fans with a 4-1 win over Malaga at the Camp Nou, giving the Catalans 100 points for the season, which equals Real Madrid's record set last term. The win leaves Barcelona 15 points clear at the top of La Liga ahead of second-place Real Madrid.

Cesc Fabregas scored again in the 14th minute past Malaga goalkeeper Wilfredo Caballero.

Martin Montoya made it 3-0 in the 17th minutes, then Iniesta netted a goal in the 52nd minute to make it 4-0.

Malaga's only goal came in the 56th from Pedro Morales.

Real Madrid 4-2 Osasuna

The win left Barca 15 points clear at the top ahead of second-place Real Madrid.

Mourinho started with Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos each missing through injury.

Mourinho left captain Iker Casillas on the bench again - giving goalkeeper Jesus Fernandez his first start of the season.

La Liga Results : FC Barcelona win Spanish League Championship

Barcelona are only one victory away from equaling the Spanish league's record point haul of 100 points held by Real Madrid.

Barcelona has 97 points and can match Real Madrid's milestone of 100 from last season with a victory over Malaga in the last round.

1 Barcelona 97 points
Real Madrid 82 points
Atletico Madrid 73 points
Valencia 65 points
Real Sociedad 63 points
Malaga 57 points
Real Betis 55 points
Rayo Vallecano 52 points
Sevilla 47 points
10 Getafe 47 points

With Lionel Messi out with injury, Barcelona still had little trouble beating 10-man Espanyol.

The 21-year-old Neymar said on Saturday that he would be leaving Brazilian club Santos in the off-season to play for Barcelona for the next five seasons.

"Neymar is the player we were looking for," said Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova, adding that the goal of reaching 100 points was now his team's focus with the league trophy wrapped up.

"Even though it isn't a title, we will try to reach it."

Real Sociedad drew 3-3 with Real Madrid but lost its hold on fourth place and the last Champions League berth after Valencia downed Granada 1-0.

Madrid coach Jose Mourinho didn't speak to the media after the match, maintaining his silence since club president Florentino Perez announced earlier this week that the Portuguese manager would be leaving after a season without a major trophy.

"Mourinho is a great coach," said Madrid defender Marcelo. "He has helped me a lot and I wish him well."

Manuel Pellegrini coached his last match at Malaga's La Rosaleda in a 3-1 win over Deportivo La Coruna. The Chilean is expected to move to Manchester City.

Osasuna will remain in the top flight after defeating Sevilla 2-1.

Real Betis soundly beat Real Zaragoza 4-0 to rise to seventh place behind Malaga and the Europa League positions.

Rayo Vallecano defeated Getafe 2-1 in the fight for a Europa League spot.

Athletic Bilbao's last match at San Mames Stadium was a 1-0 loss to Levante. San Mames will be torn down and replaced by a modern facility after 100 years as Bilbao's home ground.

No team has been relegated to date. Deportivo, Celta Vigo, Zaragoza, and Mallorca are at risk with the bottom three destined to go down after the final round.

Barcelona will travel to Munich to face Bayern Munich in a friendly at Friendly Allianz Arena on July 24th.
