Champions League 2010 draw – last 16

Barcelona faces Arsenal in the last draw

Champions League 2010 draw – last 16

Milan vs Tottenham
Valencia vs Schalke
Inter vs Bayern
Lyon vs Real Madrid
Arsenal vs Barcelona
Marseille vs Manchester United
København vs Chelsea

Arsenal and Barcelona will play again, the Gunners lost to Barca last season at the quarter final stage. Arsenal will be looking for revenge and to assert themselves.

“It is a tough draw for us,” said Gunners secretary David Miles. “But given that Barcelona got the better of us last year we feel that the time is right and that we can turn the tables this time. Lionel Messi is obviously one of the quality players in Europe and manager Arsène Wenger will have done his homework. He is their main danger man.”

Tottenham will once again travel to the San Siro to face AC Milan.

Manchester United and Chelsea seem to have easier draws - Red Devils face Marseille and the Blues face FC Copenhagen.

Inter Milan and Bayern Munich were drawn against each other. “It is a very interesting draw,” said Bayern director Karl Hopfner: “It is a very interesting draw to meet them again so soon after last season’s final. We are looking forward to it but both of us have not started that well in the league or the Champions League.”

The last remaining tie is between Lyon and Real Madrid.

Manchester United Plans to Launch New Winning Campaign

Sir Alex Ferguson's Red Devils team will be striving to attain a winning start after their disappointment last season.

Wayne Rooney will be out to redeem himself immediately as the deposed Premier League champions Manchester United get their new campaign underway against Newcastle on Monday  with expectations of an easy win at Old Tafford.

Ferguson will be playing veterans Edwin van der Sar and Rio Ferdinand as well as Javier Hernandez, who comes from Chivas de Guadalajara, Antonio Valencia and Ji-sung Park as they play with the intent of regaining the title this term.

Man U are oppotomistic after their 3-1 Community Shield victory over Chelsea last Sunday. Valencia slotted home the opener from Rooney's right-wing centre before Hernandez managed to double their advantage with 15 minutes to go. Berbatov sealed things in stoppage time with a deft lob over goalkeeper Hilario.

Newcastle's crashed 2-1 preseason to Scottish Premier League holders Rangers at Ibrox.
