Champions League Update & News - Chelsea, AC Milan, Barca, Juve

In his first official start for Chelsea, twenty-year-old Oscar repaid manager Roberto Di Matteo's faith with a stunning double in the Champions League against Juventus at Stamford Bridge.

On Wednesday Chelsea opened their defence of its Champions League title by loosing a commanding lead to draw 2-2 against Italian champion Juventus.

Brazilian midfielder Oscar marked his first start for Chelsea with two long-range goals, but Arturo Vidal pulled a goal back close to halftime and substitute Fabio Quagliarella equalized late on.

"We are disappointed and a little bit deflated to get in a great position to win the game and come away with only a draw," Chelsea manager Roberto di Matteo said. "We should have closed the game."

"Every young boy in Brazil dreams of playing in the Champions League so for me to realise this dream, it makes me very proud," said Oscar.

The 20-year-old midfielder joined the European champions after the Olympics from Brazilian side Internacional.

Oscar, a star of South American football, has established himself at international level with six full caps and is expected to play a key role at the 2014 World Cup in his home country.

Barcelona needed two late goals from superstar Lionel Messi to win 3-2 against Spartak Moscow.

RSC Anderlecht goalkeeper Silvio Proto, a boyhood AC Milan fan, was delighted after a string of fine saves earned his side a 0-0 draw at San Siro.

"I'm delighted, especially because I have Italian roots, Italian blood. I think today is one of the best days of my father's life."
